Mary Machowski was born and raised in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She graduated from Wofford College with a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics. Her education continued at The Medical University of South Carolina- James B. Edwards College of Dental Medicine where she received her Doctor of Dental Medicine. During her time at MUSC, she was vice-president of her class and a member of several organizations such as American Student Dental Association,  American Association of Women Dentist, South Carolina Dental Political Action Committee, American Dental Political Action Committee, Psi Omega Dental Fraternity, Student Medical History Club and the Warring Historical Library Society. 

 

Mary continued her education at Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in New Orleans completing a General Practice Residency at University Medical Center, formerly known as Charity Hospital. While in New Orleans, she treated patients as part of a hospital team along with comprehensive and preventive care for the medically compromised.

 

She then pursued her education at The Dental College of Georgia at Augusta University with a residency in Prosthodontics. During her time there she studied and completed complex treatment in both removable and fixed restorations for natural and implant restorations. During her third year, she served as chief resident. She presented posters at The American College of Prosthodontist and The American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics.

Dr. Mary remains active in the community with local, state and national dental associations. She is excited to be back on the South Carolina coast treating patients in the community.

When she is not at the office she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
